Error: Failed to unpack database list

Posted on May 26, 2013 @ 4:54 am

When we developed the main engine of DroidVPN we made sure that we do not waste RAM by allocating large buffers from the program. But we made a mistake and some of the buffers allocated were small enough to work on larger data. When we added more servers to address the "Server is full" issue, the size of the database list increased more than the size of the allocated buffers which is causing the "Failed to unpack database list" error message.

The problem will not actually make your DroidVPN stop working you will just not be able to use the new servers. To fix this problem just update your DroidVPN client from Google Play

The latest version of DroidVPN is now 1.8.7e.The update fixes this problem. The upgrade notification will also no longer appear every time you connect which is kinda annoying and we are sorry for that.
