What is torrenting?

The term "Torrent" refers to the metadata files related to the files and folders to be downloaded. A Torrent file does not contain the actual content you are downloading, but only the information regarding those files such as their names and sizes. The torrent file usually ends in .torrent. The information contained in that .torrent file is used by the torrent client to download the actual files

The act of downloading the actual content of the torrent file is called "torrenting" and it uses the BitTorrent network. Instead of downloading files to a central server, torrenting involves downloading files from other users' devices on the network. Conversely, users upload files from their own devices for other users to download. Torrenting is the most popular form of peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing, and it requires torrent management software to connect to the BitTorrent network. Such software can be downloaded for free for a number of different devices.

Is it legal to download torrent?

Torrenting itself is not illegal, but downloading unsanctioned copyrighted material is. It is not always immediately apparent which content is legal to torrent and which is not. Some fall in a gray area, so you may find yourself unwittingly on the wrong side of the law.

Is downloading torrent allowed on DroidVPN

Downloading torrent files is only allowed on our servers labeled with "[P2P]" using other servers would get your account suspended for 1 hour. Due to issues with DMCA requests, torrenting is only available on those servers. Read about DMCA on Electronic Frontier Foundation's website here.

Torrenting vs Regular Downloads?

The main difference between a regular download and torrent download is that a torrent download lets you download the data through torrent clients that support peer to peer networks (eg: utorrent, vidmate) and direct downloading eliminates such systems. A standard download relies on the browser instead, while also depending upon a single source rather than other users.

I am not downloading torrent but I am still getting suspended

Make sure no other torrent client is running because even if you are not downloading that client is probably still seeding torrents which is still not allowed. Some apps are also not advertised as a torrent client but they download data using torrent like VidMate and YesTube. If you are using that app make sure to stop it first before connecting to our servers.
